Okay so, basically, Sarah is totally whipped by Cosima and knows it and is resigned to it, sigh. She loves her a lot and once you actually have Sarah's loyalty you have it forever, so, good job!!! Sarah at this point firmly considers them friends as well as sisters.
That still doesn't mean that Cosima doesn't frequently get on her nerves, though, because she does. Sarah frequently feels in over her head when it comes to Cosima's entire worldview, while simultaneously finding Cosima naive and too trustworthy, so it's very frustrating for her when she hears about Cosima, for example, making plans to vacation in the zombie apocalypse. On one hand, she's super pissed off because, god, doesn't Cosima think about how Sarah and Alison would feel if something happened to her? And on the other hand she's scared because, god, is Cosima seriously that delusional and optimistic? :I It's frightening.
The thing that Sarah really can't understand about Cosima is how much importance she gives to friendship and relationships. Sarah has formed some really good relationships in Camp, and has a handful of people she thinks of as Actual Friends even, but she'd still ditch them in a second if she thought it would help her situation and she had the opportunity. When she sees how Cosima would be willing to go to Eugene's world for vacation, or willing to meet Ruby's grandmother, or hears her pushing for Sarah and Sam's "relationship", she seriously has no real basis of understanding where Cosima is coming from. It freaks her out. It frustrates her. It scares her, because she honestly does think Cosima might decide to go with one of them when she leaves Camp. Because Sarah's whole thing is leaving before the other person can leave her, and this is preeetty much the one instance where she can't be the one who leaves first. She can't just hitch to another universe, because there'd be no way of bringing Kira and Felix with her. But Cosima doesn't have those extra relationships to ~tie her down~, so to speak, so the idea of simply ditching their clone problems by going to another universe is something that, to Sarah, must seem like an appealing and viable option for Cosima. So for Sarah it's a real fear.
Honestly Sarah has been feeling slightly closer to Alison lately because they've both been dealing with spending the holidays apart from their kids, which is the worst. There was also a sense of "let's make this a good Christmas for Cosima since she's possibly dying!" camaraderie. Such good sisters. She really appreciates everything Alison did over American Thanksgiving and Christmas with the cooking and gifts.
HOWEVER as always with them, there's a bit of tension. Sarah has been thinking more about telling people they're clones and she knooows Alison is going to freak out, and she does honestly take Alison's thoughts into account!! honestly!! I swear!! But she feels like Alison doesn't consider anything except how it would affect her, which is annoying. And she didn't really appreciate Alison taking advantage of the truth effect to talk about her thing with Cosima, like, wow, rude. Cosima might have asked her to talk about it, but she didn't have to do it during a truth thing, jeez. :I
Sarah thought she and Eugene were doing really well! And then the thing with Cosima's vacation happened and Sarah called him a shitty friend and threatened to kill him, oops. She did feel bad about it afterwards, because she knows he's not a shitty friend, but a big part of her was just like, "Whoops, that's what happens when you almost let my sister get eaten by zombies, Sarah Manning's gonna Sarah Manning, whatever." She was totally... not ever going to apologize for that or even speak to Eugene again, not out of any negative feelings toward him specifically, but just because in Sarah's world, friends aren't permanent, this kind of shit happens, people leave and abandon each other and that's life. Completely ruining her relationship with someone and then refusing to admit she did anything wrong is just par for the course with her.
But then he came to her and wanted to talk, and said it wasn't for Cosima's sake, which totally threw her (because... why would Eugene talk to her if not because she's Cosima's sister?) but also weirdly meant a lot to her. Like, somebody actually sought me out because they thought it was worth reconciling with me as a person instead of because my sister forced them to? So she was super awkward about it but also touched! She still has no idea what their relationship even is, but she's more willing to put an effort into it.
EUGENE WHY ARE YOU SO CONFUSING sarah is so confused. are they friends??? are they not??? mysteries
Alison mostly feels like they're in a comfortable holding pattern in their relationship now, where they have things they agree on (1: They miss their kids; 2: Not approving of Cosima doing dangerous things; 3: Doing anything they can to make Cosima happy despite that; 4: Camp is the worst) and just... avoiding talking about the things they don't. Because it's exhausting. She's pretty resigned to not fitting into Sarah and Cosima's BFF dynamic, but she's a little bit more "whatever" about it, since she's kind of been preoccupied and her mood has been all over the place in recent months anyway.
We were thisclose to me being able to say Alison didn't have any major complaints, except she felt completely blindsided by Red Arrow having all these questions for her about her safety and shady corporations and the military. That was not part of our deal Sarah, god!!! She's well aware that Sarah and Cosima are wanting to tell everyone, and she is selfish enough to try and hold them to not telling everyone, which is totally coming from a place of fear. And since she's had the most negative interactions re: clone stuff, she's still kind of spooked. Sorry, Alison can be selfish, even though she is honestly making an effort in many other ways to try and take care of her clone-sisters.
ALSO THE TRUTH-THING WAS TOTALLY A COINCIDENCE. It's not like she actively tried to take advantage of it, okay .___. She just wanted to get it over with because she was kind of like "OH LOOK, ANOTHER SARAH-COSIMA BRO MOMENT THAT I DON'T GET BUT AM STILL INVOLVED IN SOMEHOW, UGH"
Sarah likes Sam a lot! They have this really easy dynamic that's really refreshing to her and reminds her a lot of... idk, the friends she used to have before she got involved in all the clone drama and they thought she got run over by a train. Things with them are casual! And fun! And despite Sarah making an ass out of herself by asking if he chopped his parents up with an axe, and Felix telling him all kinds of awkward shit, they are still improbably okay! And she hasn't completely ruined it yet! 8D So all in all she's pretty pleased with the way things are going with them.
Despite Cosima's constant, constant insistence that they need to be Officially Dating and In Love, Sarah is 100% convinced that were dating to happen everything would instantly become awkward and horrible and weird. She really, really does not want that. And things are so complicated with her romantic life at home, not to mention all the clone drama, not to mention Kira's existence, that she thinks it would be way easier on both of them to just... not bring feelings into their arrangement. Keep it casual and fun and non-ruined! Yes, good plan.
Haha, I just remember going "NO STOP TRYING TO BE SO OVERLY NICE TO ALISON AND INVOLVED IN HER LIFE, YOU MIGHT END UP DEAD" every time she was on screen :x
WE TALK ABOUT THIS A LOT AND I'M FEELING INCOHERENT SO HAVE SOME RANDOM BULLET POINTS, let me know if you want more things!
-Sarah is definitely her closest sister (sorry Alison) and one of her closest friends and she loves her unconditionally forever -BUT Sarah's thing with Eugene was really annoying! and bugged Cosima more than she let on and she sometimes gets annoyed with Sarah's avoidance of forming meaningful relationships with people! Cosima is this odd mix of logic and following her heart and she just doesn't get why Sarah would want to keep her distance! -On that same note Cosima is just a little bit afraid that Sarah will run off on them again and try to push them away and yes, she's done it before but it would be so much worse now. Cosima got this whole family when she found out she was a clone and Sarah and Kira and Felix are all a huge part of that and she's very afraid of losing that if Sarah pulls a Sarah and runs off again. -Cosima is also starting to think more and more that she is finding the cure for Sarah and Alison and the other clones and not for herself and that she is not going to survive to see the cure used, which is why she's been taking more dumb risks lately and why she's really determined to find the cure (she is going to be very bummed that Sarah couldn't bring back the book). -Cosima also just really, really wants Sarah to be happy! And would do pretty much anything to help her be happy, which is why she gets kittens! and double dates! and other things Cosima thinks will bring happiness into Sarah's life (i am so sorry).
UM UM, i am sure there are more things but i can't think of them
Does Sarah ever think about the clone disease and the possibility that she could get it? ALSO, or instead, what would Sarah do if Delphine showed up in Camp?
As for the clone disease, she does think about it a lot, even though she tries not to. She trusts Cosima and since Cosima told her that she won't get it because it's tied up in their infertility, she worries about it not really for her personally, but for the other clones and especially for Kira. Since they have no idea why Sarah isn't infertile or how it happened, she figures there's a chance that even though she will avoid the clone disease, Kira might not. Which is so terrifying and awful that she doesn't want to think about it, but she totally spends some nights up worrying about it.
If Delphine showed up, Sarah... would not be very nice, but I don't think she'd go out of her way to be mean, either?? It would just be really awkward for her because she knows Delphine would keep trying to talk to her and be friends and ugh!! DELPHINE D:< But yeah, she would try to awkwardly keep out of her way if possible.
Does Cosima worry a lot about what she'll do if they update again and she dies at home?
