[after a pause, the door opens. she looks surprised to see him there rather than Cosima, and also surprised to see his bandages, and also like someone hit her in the face multiple times the day before]

[staysafe]

[inclines his head toward a bag hanging off one of the crutch handles]

Hey. I come in peace.

[coppelganger]

[stepping back]

C'mon in. What's up?

[staysafe]

I told Cosima I'd offer a first aid check.

[coppelganger]

Seriously? Looks like you could use one too, honestly.

[staysafe]

I've taken care of worse.

[coppelganger]

[pointing to his bandages]

So what happened there? You run into Alison?

[staysafe]

[sits down on the bed, scratching the back of his neck]

Oil burn.

[coppelganger]

Right...

[she sounds a little doubtful, but she's not going to push it]

[staysafe]

[his smile goes a little tight-lipped, and he just shrugs]

Is your face the worst of it?

[coppelganger]

Yeah. Listen, I told Cosima I was fine.

[staysafe]

I know. And it's been too long to have much of an impact. But it would make her feel better. Even if we just clean things up.

[coppelganger]

[sitting on the bed near him]

She should be focusing on herself. I found her on the ground yesterday.

[staysafe]

Yeah, and between what she told me and looking at you, that was probably the better outcome.

[coppelganger]

[sighs]

Yeah, that would've been bad.

[staysafe]

[takes the kit out of the bag, opens it, then moves in to get a good look at her face]

She's fine. That's what matters.

[coppelganger]

[it doesn't look like anything is broken or too seriously messed up, but Alison did elbow her and then kick her twice, so her entire face is pretty bruised up in general]

I know.

[staysafe]

Honestly, you should just be icing this. But I'll clean up the cuts and stick a band-aid on something, and hopefully that should be the end of it.

[coppelganger]

What are you, some kinda doctor now?

[she sounds more curious than accusatory, though]

[staysafe]

[he looks down, going through the kit]

Maxine needed all the hands she could get while I was recovering.
